semi-formal tea
Simon recently posted pictures of his family tours in Japan. Inspired, I wanted to share one of my favorite pictures ever. I took this during Tea in the Garden at the Golden Pavilion in Kyoto (I think).
The sugar mochi, this white bits, have the impression of the pavilion on them. They are also brushed with a stroke of gold. You may be able to see it if you REALLY zoom in.
The tea, of course, was freshly wisked by these really nice ladies in formal dress. Probably laughing at us for having tea :) It was fun anyways.
