tests

I scored perfect on both my exams for TABC (texas alcoholic beverage commission) and the Bartending School. w00t. No one else in the class did, but apparently there was a pool on how well I would do.

Here are some tests you guys will probably enjoy more.

This one was kinda freaky, but probably right on target.

You are Tifa...
You are TIFA. Sweet, caring, and I bet you can make
a damn good B-52 shot...

Old Habits

So, seeing as though when strapped for cash I always like to leech on others' monetary spending, I've decided to get my license and bartend in Texas.
Clearly the school and lawyering thing isn't working out for me, so this is a good way to get some money while leaving my days free to interview -- if they ever actually materialize.

I did get some interesting news. My professor from stockholm and I exchanged some very plesant emails yesterday. She did mention, in signing off, that a bunch of 'nervous students are reading your exam as the model exam from last year!' Um, did you READ my exam? I completely missed one question and half-assed another. In any event, is this something I can put on a resume ... lol seriously, I need as much help as I can get:
RESUME:
------
Education
University of Stockholm School of Law
LL.M. International Commercial Arbitration Law
Thesis: Third party interests in Arbitrations concerning environmental issues
Studied the nuances of international commercial arbitration law, including treaty arbitration, national and international instruments, and the application of local arbitration laws. Examination used as a model exam for current students freaking out about the upcoming exam -- which they shouldn't since Sweden still allows omtenta, or freakishly-easy-retest, if you do poorly or flunk the first time around.
------
Perhaps that's a bit much?

Good times, good times.

what? NO COMMENTS?

Lol I think a bunch of people resolved to not read and post commentary on blogs anymore, and I'm not joking. I was looking at other blogs and there seems to be a decided absence in posting and commentary. Not good.

My dad leaves tomorrow and will head back to wonderful stockholm. I totally did not realize how unseasonably wonderful it's been in Dallas this winter. This weekend it will be 28c again, can you believe it? it's been in the mid 20's during the day and mid 10's at night. SOOO nice. Now, a warm winter, better not mean a hot summer, since we already are in a drought (see texas wild fires) and usually have 30+ days with highs over 40c.

Hope all is well out there

Right ...

Being without work, as I am, a friend's brother, who I know fairly well, moved to dallas. He's taken a job in Terrel, Texas, about 40 miles from where I live. Geographically it is not far, but by clever funneling of the roads resembling organized chaos it is only 45 miles from my house. Wow, impressive, even for Dallas.

My harping about the distance has to do with the fact that I 'volunteered' to drive him to and from work for this first week (and possibly second). The conditions are as follows: 1) he pays gas, 2) he builds me a new 64 bit desktop including operating system and video card that can outswank the local techies -- at least for a week. Now, this is going okay, since it just started today, and he got a ride back home. However, I already see problems. For one thing, he is not sure how often he will need me to pick him up from work. This is bad because it is an hour out there, and I'd hate to have him just hanging out, or me trek out there and waste the gas for not. He's yet to call me, and it's 2100, and let me know when to pick him up tomorrow. This pisses me off b/c a) you should reasonably know when to you need to be in to work, particularly by 9pm and b) it's common courtesy to let me know.

In any event, I did get a call at or about 2133. We exchanged pleasantries and I finally had to be all,"dude, when do you want to get to work tomorrow." After a quick response the conversation was clearly over and we resolved the following uncomfortable silence in about 30 seconds. We are guys, afterall, so it didn't take us long to get off the phone once the business was done.

I need to set my alarm. I wonder if 545 is too early ...
